Noél has been teaching our youth since her own children were very young. Our youth love and adore her. She is fun as well as being a great example of living our faith. She is always the first to admit she makes mistakes, so she is able to show our parents that being an example for our youth doesn't mean being perfect. It does mean staying involved.

Noél is accessible to both our youth and their parents. She is practical, so when you have issues arise, you can talk with her about finding a solution that is fair to all.

Noél has three different helpers named "Chris," so this one got nicknamed rather quickly, a pun on her last name! It is also a very affectionate term for the person who handles the day-to-day records that the RE Department needs to keep.

If you're wondering about your payment status, contactQueen. If you need to let the department know that your youth is sick and can't make class, contact Queen.

Most Flock Note reminders are sent by Queen, so if you need to change your contact info, email Queen.

All Religious Education classes, including but not limited to our Faith Formation K-12th Grades, Sacramental Preparatory classes, and VBS, require that we have a way to communicate with the families. Flock Note is the group messaging service that St. Thomas uses for that purpose.

Therefore, when registering for any of our classes, we will ask you for your email address and your cell phone number. Ideally, we prefer both since some messages can be longer than is good for reading by text.

However, it is your choice. We want you to give us whichever you use and check most often. Then we can let you know if classes get canceled or the times get changed--just as examples of occasions when we would send out messages.

Faith Formation
Kindergarten - 5th Grade

Each year we begin Faith Formation classes the week following the beginning of school classes. For the Academic Year of 2020 - 2021, this date may differ. In fact, the way we conduct class may need to be altered.

Stay tuned for notification as COVID continues to upset our daily schedules.

"Alive in Christ" are the lessons we use. They are bilingual with online access so that parents may follow along with their children, assisting them in learning the basics of our Catholic faith.

PRE-COVID ROUTINE: We gather at 6:30 p.m. for a fun half hour of social time before beginning our faith lessons at 7 p.m. each Wednesday evening. Tommy's Diner is open during social time to offer drinks and small snacks at low costs. Any profits go right back into fun activities for our youth. (This may need to change due to COVID, so please be patient as we figure out how to keep our youth safe.

From 7-8:15 p.m. we offer youth a variety of ways to interact with their faith lessons. We use videos, music, games, small group discussions, and straight on teaching from the scripture and our Traditions to help youth find a way to meet and interact with Jesus in their personal lives.

From 8:15-8:30 p.m. our youth have the opportunity to go to Confession with Father Todd on most Wednesday's while we spend time as a group in Adoration before dismissal.

AFTER WE CAN AGAIN GATHER SAFELY, THIS SECTION WILL BE UPDATED.

RE Sacramental Preparatory Classes

Youth wanting to receive sacraments MUST attend one of the above Wednesday Religious Education Faith Formation classes--either Kindergarten - 5th Grade (from 3-5 p.m.) or the Youth Group for those who are 6th - 12th grades (6:30-8:30 p.m.) In addition, they will register for the appropriate preparatory class for the sacrament they want to receive. The sacrament of Baptism may be received in the same Academic year as Holy 1st Reconciliation & 1st Communion, but otherwise, only one sacrament can be received in a single Academic year. So, Teen First Communion cannot be received in the same year as Confirmation.
